You're not alone
I know exactly how you feel.
"Am I doing this right? Why isn't this curriculum working? Is my child behind? What do I do when they just don't get it?"
If those thoughts sound familiar, I want you to know something: you are not failing. You are a dedicated, loving parent doing an incredibly hard job — without the training most teachers spend years acquiring.
I was a credentialed educator with a Master's degree in Education, and when I started homeschooling my own sons, I still felt the weight of it. Not because I didn't know how to teach — but because I had never had to be both the parent and the teacher at the same time.
That experience changed everything about how I show up to help homeschool families.
Hi, I’m Ruth Green
From the Classroom to Your Living Room
I spent eight years teaching students in 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classrooms. During that time I learned something most parents never get access to: how professional teachers actually think.
They don't guess. They don't just pick a curriculum and hope. They assess. They diagnose. They identify the exact gap — and they teach to that gap, not the whole subject. That is the difference between a child who gets stuck and a child who moves forward.
When an injury ended my classroom career, I began homeschooling my two sons. And I quickly realized that the professional tools and frameworks I relied on every day as a teacher were simply not available to homeschool parents in any accessible, practical form.
So I built them. Everything I know about diagnostic assessment, learning styles, instructional planning, and knowing when to change course — organized into a system any homeschool mom can use, regardless of her educational background.
My approach is intentionally eclectic: I draw from evidence-based methods — Charlotte Mason, Montessori, Backwards Design, Gradual Release of Responsibility — and translate them into practical steps that work in a real home, with real kids, on a real schedule.
You don't need a teaching degree to think like a teacher. You just need the right framework. That's exactly what I'm here to give you.
